Doyle discusses engine plant with Chrysler CEO
MILWAUKEE (AP) — Gov. Jim Doyle has met with the head of Chrysler to discuss the possibility of keeping the Kenosha engine plant open.
The governor's office says Doyle went to Michigan on Thursday to meet with Chrysler Group LLC CEO Sergio Marchionne.
Doyle's spokesman, Lee Sensenbrenner, told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel that the meeting happened but declined to comment further.
As part of its bankruptcy reorganization, Chrysler said it would close the Kenosha facility in October 2010, ending 800 jobs.
Wisconsin officials have been urging Chrysler to reconsider. The company's bankruptcy plan does not require it to sell the plant.
Chrysler emerged from bankruptcy last month under a new partnership with the Italian automaker Fiat Group SpA.

woodsman - you got that right. All he cares about is keeping the Indians and the DNR happy. Oh, and tooting his horn when he can come up with money for people who don't have a job. People don't realize (and I can't say this enough) that we became America when people wanted to escape the clutches of the government. We are rapidly falling in to the grasp of the government by relying on them for everything (food, money, jobs, and personal decisions). What a mess!
