NECEDAH, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin youths interested in learning how to hunt deer have a deadline coming up.

Applications for a deer-hunting workshop and special hunt at Buckhorn State Park located on the Castle Rock Flowage near Necedah are due by July 15. Coordinators say there's still space available.

Buckhorn State Park supervisor Joe Stecker-Kochanski says the hunting workshop is open to kids age 12 but not older than 17 by Nov. 7.

The deer-hunt program includes a one-day workshop on Aug. 22 or 23 and a hunt on Nov. 7 and 9 with shotguns only.

Organizers say each student must be accompanied by a chaperone who is at least 21 years old and has five years of hunting experience.

The workshop costs $25.
