The rehabilitation of North Washington Street from North Franklin Street/Highland Avenue to Hamilton Avenue and West Memorial Drive from North Washington Street to North Oakhill Avenue will start as early as today and continue through late summer.

The City of Janesville will administer the $284,000 project. Half of it will be paid for with Wisconsin Department of Transportation funding.

Utility work on these two sections of roadway is ongoing and was planned to immediately precede the paving project.

The road will be open to through traffic but lane restrictions and occasional delays will take place.

The work will include intermittent curb and gutter replacement, partial roadway surface removal and replacement, traffic signal vehicle detection conduit, pavement markings and other miscellaneous finishing work.
