South Arch Street between West Court Street and Rockport Road will be closed on Tuesday beginning at 7 a.m.

Traffic will be detoured. Driveways can be accessed only from Rockport Road.

The street will be closed so a private contractor working for a developer can install storm sewer for the new Walgreens on West Court and South Arch streets.

For more information, call Jim Karow at 755-3064.

We should change the name of our city from Janesville to Parts Store, Dollar Stores, Walgreen's, Payday loan stores Etc... Maybe

Walgreens Inc. has not stated their intent, but the city does believe it will close the Five Points store.

.
As a Fourth Ward amenity it is very nice to have all of what Walgreens offers, and whatever goes into that site after they leave will probably not be anywhere near as useful. It will probably even be restricted from competing with the new Walgreens. Since there's no progress on the Hendricks plaza across the street, it may be a while before we have groceries in walking/biking distance again.

From what I've heard, this one will replace the 5 points store.

kid, I don't know this from personal experience but I am under the impression that there is pretty good profit from being an illegal drug dealer as well. At least there is until you are caught.

Sorry for the 10-dollar word there. I probably should have said spurn.
.
McDonald's has around 14000 US stores (more than 30000 worldwide). Walgreens is over 6500 stores. (So is its pitched competitor, CVS.)

I was wondering if this was still an active project, after all the approval rigmarole. The Sara sign says "will build to suit". Maybe that's just for the part of the site Walgreens is eschewing.
