TOWN OF FARMINGTON — Authorities say a 12-year-old southeastern Wisconsin boy suffered a head injury when he was hit by one of the fireworks being discharged at a home during a Fourth of July party.

Jefferson County Sheriff Paul Milbrath said the call came in just after 10 p.m. on Saturday. He says the incident happened during a gathering at a home in the Town Of Farmington, which is located about 45 miles west of Milwaukee.

Milbrath says the boy was airlifted to Froedert Hospital in Milwaukee.

The sheriff's office continues to investigate the incident. Authorities haven't released the boy's name or condition.

cardtrader,at many locations such as Stateline Fireworks in Beloit, you can buy mortar shells, highly explosive finales, and many sizes of rockets. Anyone of these mentioned items could cause the serious injury this boy suffered.

I guess part of what I don't understand, is how these fireworks companies can get away with selling high explosives in Wisconsin. Take these places in Beloit as an example. It's just so hypocrytical that I could puke after blowing the fingers off my left hand.

Poor baby! We all think we know what we are doing, with these explosives, until something goes wrong. (personal experiences included....we will no longer ignite our own fireworks after reading this ....) I pray this peanut makes a full recovery. :(

He's a wonderful boy and in critical condition. Keeping him in your thoughts and prayers would be much appreciated.
