Whether or not Beloit College, as an entity, has been a "champion of stereotypical diversity" is beside the point when there aren't very many candidates who aren't middle-aged white males.
.
"...the profile of a college president has changed little in 20 years. The typical president is a married, white male who previously served as a chief academic officer or provost."

.
Beloit and other non-urban liberal arts colleges are generally unsuccessful at recruiting non-white faculty as a matter of record. I hardly think they'd be luckier with their presidential search.

Actually, no, I agree with you. It just seemed odd to me that a champion of the stereotypical diversity of which you speak would present such a limited roster. Just a coincidence, I guess.

No I simply don't live in the cookie cutter sterotype world that you do.

One Black Guy, One White Guy, One Hispanic Woman = Diversity regardless of any other factors.

If a college admits 3 students who all grew up on the North Shore of Chicago, whose Fathers are all partners in the same law firm and attended Prep school together on of whom is White one African American and on Hispanic is that a more diverse group than three white males one from Back Bay Boston, one from rural Nebraska who was raised by adoptive parents and one from the South Side of Milwaukee who was raised by a single mom? In your world, apprently so

So your definition of diversity is three white guys standing on a corner? Okay...

So based on the information in this article you have determined that this is not a diverse group. If one candidate is Catholic, another Mormon and the third an Atheist, does that meet your definition of diversity? How about if one is gay, one staight and one bi-sexual? What about if one is a Republican, one a Democrat and one a member of the Green Party?
None of this can be determined from the article but based on the fact that none of the finalists is female or a minority based on race the pool lacks diversity? Narrow view.

There seems to be a lack of diversity in this group of finalists.
