County urges evacuation near Fox River
WHEATLAND, Wis. (AP) — Kenosha County is urging residents along the Fox River in Wheatland and Salem to leave their homes for a few days.
The river is expected to crest well above flood stage late Thursday.
Over the years, the county has purchased many of the homes along the river that had been prone to flooding and has razed them.
But, there are a few residents who won't leave. Smoky Loeffler's house is again surrounded by water. The 87-year-old Loeffler says he's lived in the area for more than 30 years and has seen as many floods. A Town of Wheatland constable persuaded Loeffler to stay elsewhere for a few days, until the water recedes.

"I’ve lived in these here parts for 30 years aint no flood gonna drive me out." "It’s just a hurricane I’m not leaving my home." "Tornados wipe out houses here all the time we just rebuild." “Lookie here baby it’s a blizzard outside lets run to Wal-Mart.” Dumb in the head the whole body suffers! The sad part is its our tax dollars that have to rescue and rebuild these stupid people. I know lets have a hunting season on stupid people, Implement an IQ test for the hunters and declare 3 days a year that everyone stays inside. The dumb ones will without doubt venture out.

To paraphrase Kanye West: "Barack Obama doesn't care about white people."
