Officials at Beloit College are ready to announce the school's 11th president.

College spokesman Ron Nief says an announcement is planned for Wednesday afternoon at 12:30 in Eaton Chapel on campus. The search lasted eight months and included 50 candidates.

The three finalists all visited campus last month.

The first few presidents stayed for decades, SarahB. More recently they've had pretty typical tenures of about 10 years or so. For comparison, Grinnell has had 14 and Knox 18 in roughly the same period.

Only the 11th president? I think Beloit College is the oldest college in the state too. Must hold onto them for a long time. Great school with a beautiful campus.
