School board saying little about closed session meeting

From the WCLO newsroom:

The Janesville School Board is remaining tight lipped on the need for a closed door meeting Thursday night.

The board met for more than two hours at their lawyer's office. Attorney Dave Moore says in his more than four years working on behalf of the board this has never happened before. Only the school board was in attendance.

In noticing the meeting the board implied is would be considering specific personnel problems and investigating charges against specific persons, which if discussed in public, would be likely to have a substantial adverse effect upon the reputation of the person involved.

Following the meeting, School Board President DuWayne Severson would only say the meeting was confidential. There is no word on when information regarding anything discussed, or any charges, or who they might be leveled against, will be shared with the public.

Are you referring to the next secret meeting (on the same topic) planned for tomorrow (Saturday)?

For it to be a double secret meeting, I've got to think it's someone higher than a teacher that's the subject of said meeting. Thoughts??

You're absolutely right gixxer, we should demand to know what is happening with every tax dollar at every level of government. I demand to be told immediately where every single one of our special operations forces and government spies is located in the Middle East, also. No harm could be done with that information, right?

Joseph Graham

This is very suspicious, I would like more info on this "secrete meeting". What are they hiding from us?

If the safety of our children is at risk, by all means we should have a right to know!

If employed with the government whether local or not, we the public have the right to know what our tax dollars are paying for!

Let the rumor mill begin. I have my thoughts, but wouldn't dare say them here.

This is interesting. The "charges" must be substantial and founded enough that the board still won't comment even after the meeting.
