Storm causes power outages in Rock County
JANESVILLE -- Alliant Energy reported that 5,500 homes and businesses lost power early Thursday morning in Janesville and Beloit.
Heavy ice on power lines contributed to the problem.
Work crews began fixing the lines immediately.
Power could be restored mid-morning.

Walworth County has their share of power outages as well. The Gazette reporters often overlook Walworth and other counties when reporting articles of a broader interest.

Not rude...wondering just exactly what part a guy named Jesus played in climbing poles and restoring power. I am always grateful to the hard working utilities folks.

Rude Emmo, rude!
I'm thankful for these guys and gals that play such an important role in today's society where we rely SO heavily on electricity, etc. I sure as heck wouldn't want their jobs-- not even the hotline!
Yet, on the flip side, is it JUST Rock County? Or is it just that we are IN Rock County and that is all that is reported here? Just curious.

If I were one of these guys climbing up frozen poles in the rain I would have little to complain about if I am getting paid $45 an hour. Sounds like its a win/win for everyone. Merry Christmas
