JANESVILLE -- A former Janesville woman accused of slicing her ex-husband’s neck was found guilty Wednesday of attempted homicide.

Nickole E. Pergande, 36, of 14124 Lang Road, Orfordville, was taken to the Rock County Jail after her bond was revoked. The jury deliberated for about four hours and returned a verdict at 9 p.m.

Pergande, a mother of two, faces a maximum 60 years in prison. Her sentencing date has not been scheduled.

krsmith01; what's retarded is: trying to kill someone & think you'd get away with it. What you didn't see in the previous articles: 1.She resisted him in attempting to make the 911 call - went around pulling phone cords from the wall so the phones wouldn't work. 2. Where was the knife? - surely if he had done it to himself, the knife would have been present with atleast his fingerprints on it. 3.When the police arrived, SHE made them wait to come in while she "locked up the dog" - yeah right, how about letting Jamie bleed out a little more. There's plenty more - go look it up. Justice was served - now I hope she gets a stiff sentence & Jamie and the kids can move on with their lives.

I have to admit that I'm a little surprised the jury was able to reach a decision as quickly as they did. But they heard all of the testimony and had more information to go on than anyone here. I assume she will appeal.

This is a sad ordeal either way, justice has been served and the jury did a great job listening to all the facts and making the right decision. On the other hand, the families on either side feel terrible that it had to come to such a violent crime all because the husband was leaving her. Nobody is to blame but herself for making such an awful and selfish choice to end someones life and then to have no remorse afterwards at the expense of her family and children all around her. Shame on her for thinking this was the right choice, to take this man away from his very loving family. She will have a lot of time to think about this behind bars. My prayers are with her family, this is hard for anybody to watch and listen to.
And for your comment noway9, the only person that said he threatened to shoot himself was Nikki, who as shown in court has a history of telling lie after lie, after lie and kept adding things to her story.

It is very sad this happens to anyone. Did everyone read the story about the person getting out of prison after 35 years of being wrongly convicted? Pray for all involved.

It doesn't matter now people. She has been convicted. Whatever questions you had, are just mute now. A jury of her peers had all the answers they needed, and justice has been served. Take note and heed, all of you crazy women!
