JANESVILLE—Jeffrey L. Pollock, 43, of 152 S. Locust St., was killed Sunday night in a crash on Center Avenue, near Kellogg Avenue, according to a press release from the Janesville Police Department.

The two-vehicle crash happened at 6:12 p.m. A pick-up truck driven by Billy L. Passon Jr., 25, Beloit, hit Pollock’s car, as he turned left out of the Best Events parking lot, 2030 Center Ave., Janesville, according to police.

Pollock was taken to Mercy Hospital, Janesville, where he died, the release said. Passon was not hurt.

Center Avenue was closed between Kellogg and Burbank avenues for several hours while police investigated the crash, which remains under investigation.

Unfortunately the holidays come at a time of worsening weather and shorter daylight hours. Due to the visibility at that location I can only imagine what contributed to this accident. A family member was among the victim's staff and reports everyone at work is grieving.

Jeff did not have any children, but he did have nieces and nephews that he loved dearly. Jeff will be deeply missed by our family. He had a kind and gentle soul! -Bart & Michelle

It always seem to happen around the holidays too what a terrible time to lose a friend and a loved one. I wonder if he had children....I sure hope not

The paragraph structure makes it unclear as to who was doing what. Jeff was leaving the parking lot of Best Events as he was working there. I'd known Jeff and my friends and I are sad to lose a friend to such a fleeting mistake. I had to circumnavigate the accident twice and did not realize until this afternoon when a friend stopped by. Condolences to BOTH families/friends.
