Jury finds Burlington man not guilty on wife's 1997 homicide
A Walworth County jury returned a not guilty verdict late Monday on the case of a Burlington man accused of killing his wife and dumping her body at the bottom of Geneva Lake.
David A. Brossard, Burlington, faced a first-degree intentional homicide charge in the 1997 death of his wife, Dawn Brossard.
Jurors deliberated for nearly seven hours. The verdict was met with a gasp from David Brossard’s family, followed by hugs and tears.

You may or may not return the same verdict as the jury did. I have not read the final jury vote, but a guilty verdict in a murder trial must be unanimous. I have served on a murder trial that convicted the defendant and everyone on that jury thought long and hard before returning the verdict. Remember people, It is on ONLY the evidence that is presented in the court that is to be used to convict or acquit the defendant, not what is in the media.

I guess all of you people have forgotten about the Innocent until proven guilty. Everyone assumes that everyone is guilty because you are watching too much cable television. If you weren't at the trial, you don't know all of the facts. I certainly wasn't there

So did the D.A. just jump on this guy trying to use him as the scapegoat because he was convenient or what? I get real nervous when police try connecting any unsolved case they have to one person.

It was a tough conviction due to time and no real hard physical evidence.
I applaud the DA for trying it, it wouldn't happen in Rock County. We don't try triple murderers when we have DNA evidence. Haven't tried him yet anyway.

Quote "Since OJ's public trial, I don't have much faith in the Jury Trial in murders. This story sickens me."
.
Im sure you knew every detail of the case right? more than what was in the media to make an educated decision? what sickens me is armchair jurys who can decide by what a biased media reports without knowing even 10% of the facts. I dont know, you dont know, the only people who know are the people in that courtroom.

I would love to know what caused the jury to find him not guilty. It sounds like the O.J. jury.
