Senate to review e-mail policies after suit
MADISON, Wis. (AP) — The Wisconsin Senate will review its e-mail policies after a lawsuit uncovered how employees in one senator's office used personal accounts for state business.
Carrie Lynch is a spokeswoman for Senate Majority Leader Russ Decker. Lynch says some employees use private accounts rather than logging into the state system because it's more convenient.
She says the Senate will draft a policy that allows the practice but advises employees about appropriate use and other rules.
The issue has been highlighted by a lawsuit that claims Sen. Dan Kapanke's office failed to release records about two events. One Kapanke aide testified she routinely uses a Yahoo account for work but didn't know it would be subject to the open records law.

Local city counsel members know better than that. Come on! Maybe they are not fit for the position. If they did not know it when prior to running for office, and were not told in orientations to the new position, then they surely watched the Sarah Palin's e-mail scandal unfold on national TV around election time. Call the Proctologist, a couple of heads are stuck!
