NEW BERLIN, Wis. (AP) — A New Berlin police officer has nominated a 7-year-old boy and his father for a lifesaving award for pulling a 4-year-old from the bottom of a swimming pool.

Police say that over the weekend the 7-year-old saw his cousin on the bottom of the deep end of a residential pool.

Police say the boy, Ethan Clinton, jumped into the pool and swam to the bottom. He pulled his cousin to the surface, and then to the side of the pool.

That’s where Ethan’s father, Ty, started CPR on the younger boy. Ty is a former medic for the Wisconsin National Guard.

After several cycles of CPR, police say the 4-year-old vomited and started to breathe. He was alert and breathing when the police officer arrived.

Absolutely amazing what a child so young can do!
May God bless him many times over throughout his life, because he is truly a special soul.
I too would love to hear the outcome of this.

i kid my littler big brother all the time. i remember it like yesterday. i was 5 and he was 7. it was raining and we decided to go fish down on the docks while the rest of the fam stayed in the camper. we werent there 10 minutes and he slipped and fell into the cold cold water. i instinctively dropped my rod and reached my hand out to him. i pulled him up out of the water to safety. we 'drug' the bottom for his pole and sure enough there was a little sunfish on it. not sure if thats what caused him to go in or not...i didnt get nominated for no award but thats ok...some kids arent about the glory;) lol...good work by the 7 year old. bravo.
