Kohl to discuss health care reform in Janesville
From the WCLO newsroom:
U.S. Senator Herb Kohl plans to speak with Janesville Rotary members Monday.
Meetings and protests about health care reform have drawn a bit of attention in recent days, and that's the topic Kohl plans to tackle as he makes a stop at Rotary Botanical Gardens Monday.
Kohl is also scheduled to discuss federal funding in the FY10 Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education Appropriations Bill for Blackhawk Technical College. That funding would provide tuition and books so workers in Rock County can train for new careers.
He is scheduled to speak at noon.

The public gets what it deserves? If Senator Kohl wants to disenfranchise opponents of the health care bill, then he will get what he deserves when he's up for reelection. Where is the debate? And by debate, I don't mean saying "people shouldn't be yelling, we should be having a debate." That doesn't count as a debate. You actually have to have a conversation with someone who has an opposing point of view in order to have a debate.

If its not open to the public, its because they could not risk being seen on "cable news" coming to a "union" town and getting any resistance. I'm sure you can pickup your "invitation" at the UAW if you want to go.

Often the public gets what they deserve. There is an old adage, "Pick your fights wisely."

Public forums, while useful, often times turn into a shouting match mob scene thanks from some nitwit who has to raise their voice and scream as opposed to civil debate.

Is this open to the public? Probably not, Herb doesn't want to face the public so he addresses a convenient closed meeting.
