Partially mummified remains found in Madison home
MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Dane County authorities say a body found in a Madison home appears to have been partially mummified.
County coroner John Stanley said Sunday the body was found early that morning. He says the mostly mummified remains are believed to be those of an elderly Fitchburg woman reported missing last month.
He says the remains are being examined to determine the manner and cause of death.
He says the body could be identified as early as Monday.

If someone had reported her missing, how did they do that and not check her house first???? (If that was her house she was found in).

MrScott: I also thought that it was not natural but with a little research I found this info: "Natural mummification occurs in favorable soils and climates, particularly cold, arid areas, ice, and peat bogs."-http://encyclopedia2.thefreedictionary.com/Mummified+body.

Being mummified is not a natural process. Someone would have to intentionally try to preserve the body for it to be mummified.

Well, that's pretty sad if she died in her home and no one noticed until she was mummified! I do hope it was that simple and no crime took place.
