Off-duty police thwart robbery attempt
In a case of terrible timing, a would-be robber entered Quotes Bar & Grill on Sunday night with the wrong people inside: off-duty cops.
Alonzo C. Rucker, 18, Beloit, is suspected of wearing a blue bandana around his face and reaching into his pants like he was grabbing a weapon when two Eau Claire police officers stiff-armed and tackled him.
About 20 off-duty officers from throughout the state were in Quotes for a pub crawl. They were in town for the Wisconsin Professional Police Association’s golf outing at the Glen Erin Golf Club.

I've heard of dumb crooks before, but this one takes the cake. Almost as bad as somebody getting arrested for having the keys to the bar, given by the owner, who then claims mugging after the keys were used..........

Why were the cops drinking outside of the building and then bringing their beer inside? Is there seating out front now?

It was a great scene! The cops just looked at each other like he was an idiot and took him down. He layed there crying for a little bit. when JPD got there all they had to do was cuff him and take him. the off-duty cops got quite a kick out of it. They did a great job!!!!!

The best part is, the one cop didn't even set his beer down and he still took the twit down. That is priceless.

alright!! great to hear that they caught one of these scums! I wonder if this is the same guy that robbed the guy in his driveway at gunpoint a few days ago? Now if the local cops could catch these burglury rings operating in this town it would be wonderful!
