KENOSHA—A 37-year-old woman is dead and a 41-year-old man is injured after a stabbing in Kenosha.

Police say officers responded to a report of a female passed out at an apartment around 7:50 a.m. Friday. They found Carmen Santos-Padilla unconscious with stab wounds. She was later pronounced dead at a local hospital.

Police followed blood to a storage bin in the basement, where they found Jose E. Leon with multiple stab wounds.

Police say he told officers an altercation occurred between the two ending in the stabbing. He was in critical-stable condition at a Milwaukee area hospital Saturday.

The pair previously lived together with their 4-year-old son, but police say the woman left three weeks ago. It's unknown why she returned.

Police believe only the pair were involved.

Poor kid. What the problem did these two think that this was going to solve?
