Bus hits Wisconsin guardrail and tips, injuring 2
WAUPUN, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin authorities say a bus with about 20 adult Special Olympics athletes crashed while returning from Nebraska, leaving two people with serious injuries.
Dodge County Sheriff Todd Nehls (NAYLZ’) says the bus driver lost control Tuesday about 3:30 a.m. and crashed into a guardrail on Highway 151 near Waupun. The guardrail prevented the bus from plunging down an embankment, instead pushing it back onto the road where it tipped over.
Nehls says the 42-year-old bus driver and one athlete were in serious condition. The other 20 passengers were treated at a hospital and released.
Sheriff’s Capt. Molly Soblewski told reporters the athletes were golfers and softball players returning from Lincoln, Neb.

I actually traveled 151 today all the way up to manitowoc and then back which was a long day of driving so I had to go past where this happened. When I went by the accident was cleared up and they were replacing the guardrail, but I didnt realize till I saw where it happened that it almost was a bus plunging off the bridge type of thing....this happened on the way up the overpass over highway 49. If it wasnt for the rail they would have gone straight off the bridge embunkment onto the highway below so luckily it did its job.

At least it wasn't a "bus plunge" story.

very sad, but I'm glad the number of injuries has been reduced from what was first announced this morning. I hope they recover. And I hope they did well in their individual competitions! I am certain that God has a special place in heaven for disabled individuals.
