Vote is Tuesday on bill for standards for wind energy
MADISON—A bill that would set standards for wind-energy systems in Wisconsin is up for a vote in a state Senate committee on Tuesday.
The committee that handles energy and utilities issues held a hearing on the proposal in May. The bill has already cleared an Assembly committee. It has the backing of business, labor, environmental and farm groups.
It requires the Public Service Commission to set uniform rules for the projects statewide and prohibits municipalities from adopting stricter regulations. Right now, the commission only approves the largest projects, those capable of producing more than 100 megawatts of electricity.
Backers of the measure hope it will pass the Legislature later this year.

I wonder if they'd allow a 435' wind tower in my backyard if it sported USA, Wisconsin, and Green Bay Packer flags blowing majestically in the wind? The constant "whomp whomp whomp" of the blades would help offset the noise from I-90. I could install a cell tower antenna array to help defray construction costs and flag maintenance.

Would this be SB-185?
