FRIENDSHIP, Wis. (AP) — Health officials say an Adams County man suspected of having swine flu was exposed to the virus when he traveled to San Diego last week.

Sue Kunferman is the director of the Wood County Health Department. She says the man felt sick when he returned and sought medical care a few days later.

Kunferman says the 40-year-old man reported feeling much better Thursday morning.

She says the man's boss, wife and children are being treated as a precaution with oral antiviral medication and report no symptoms. The kids are attending school as usual.

Federal health officials are conducting tests to confirm whether the case is swine flu. Kunferman says results could be available Thursday.

Two other suspected cases of swine flu in Milwaukee were reported Wednesday.

Miltonalum - I am a "white" woman... I have "black" friends... they know they are "black" and they don't mind being called that... it's not like I said "colored" or "negro" or something of the like. I am pretty sure "black" is appropriate, but then again I am "white" so who knows.... lol
.
P.S. I knew you would find it a little funny... thanks for finding some humor in my little joke. :)

miltonalum... some of us find humor in the "silliest" places. I don't try to poke fun at bad situations, but sometimes a touch of levity can go a long way. I'm used to being crucified on these blogs for being extremely blunt. I was really not allowed to have an opinion unless I was discussing scripture growing up.

Now, I don't care about stepping on some wee little toes... I say what I feel and assume the other "adults" on these blogs can be adult as well. Its just nauseating how so many people feel that someone's opinion, somehow has to fit into some politically correct mold. As if my 50 years of life were lived in some cave.

Whatever.... when something strikes me as funny, I laugh!!! I have pretty thick skin... wish others did.

:)

That joke sure spread fast huh? I thought it was witty. Not racist, anyone who says it is, is racist themselves.

Although your joke was intended as a little light humor, a 23 month old is dead because of the disease you reference, Its not racist either although the 1st 3 words are "A Black Man."
.
This Pandemic is causing unnecessary fear amongst the general public, people will continue to die, how fast and how many? who knows. Seasonal flu kills 36000 a year, people need information, not jokes.
.
BTW i did NOT vote for obama
.
BTW it was a little funny

Yeah, A 23 month old girl died in Texas yesterday:( I'm sorry to say. I have heard that she was from Mexico, and came to the States already infected. I do not know how true that is, though.

Sometimes I feel like some people just can't take a joke... it's not racist, or rude at all. it's funny. Someone out there has to see humor in it. ?? Maybe?? anyone???

Has anyone died in the US from this? I haven't heard of anyone dying from it yet... but even so, I think it's crazy to over react about a strain of the flu. People with weak immune systems can die from any flu, not just the swine flu. Oh, I heard a funny joke today too...
.
"A man once said, "a black man will become president when pigs fly"... sure enough, 100 days into Obama's precidency, Swine Flu...
.
Now that's funny... lol

woodsman, it's spreading in New York City. Should it be a crime to go to New York? Or California or Texas?

Yes, take precautions, as with any flu. We can laugh and joke about it until we or someone we love contracts it
