New Darien board has first meeting
DARIEN—The Darien Village Board tonight held its first meeting since the April election.
Many votes were split 4-3, although others were unanimous.
The board appointed positions to the personnel and planning committees and voted to keep David Danz as the village’s legal counsel.
The board met in closed session so new members could learn about the legal issues surrounding fired Police Chief Steve DeVoy. No action was taken on the issue.
The board will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday for an organizational meeting.
