MADISON, Wis. (AP) — More help is headed to food pantries, homeless shelters and meal sites in Wisconsin.

Sixteen organizations that help distribute food and other goods to local pantries and shelters will get $2 million from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.

Governor Doyle says the tough economy has created unprecedented demand at local soup kitchens and food pantries.

The $2 million in goods will be distributed to more than 300 locations across the state through The Emergency Food Assistance Program. The funding will also be used to offset administrative costs for transporting and storing the products.

Im glad that they decided to help but do you really think that only $2 million is really going to be enough to help when its going to 300 locations across the state? Im not too sure. I mean temporarily it helps -- which is great -- I mean help others get on their feet by all means! I just think that's a pretty small amount in my opinion when you have a lot of people who need help.

Do note that the program in question is already funded for this year.

News flash: Washington has been out of cold hard real cash since before Nixon took the US off the gold standard... with the ironic exception of the tax-and-spend liberal Clinton's last few years (with, I will certainly add, a Republican Congress).

Washington D.C. is out of cash. Our entire budget is gone for this year. This quarter we will borrow $361 billion for April, May, & June.
