Sheboygan dad accused of breaking infant’s ribs
SHEBOYGAN—Sheboygan police say a 28-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of severely injuring his 3-week-old son.
Authorities say the baby suffered at least three broken ribs and a fractured skull.
Police and a social worker were called to the Sheboygan home Friday after receiving a report of an injured infant.
Investigators say the father was arrested after admitting he caused the injuries.
Police say they’ll recommend a charge of second-degree reckless injury of a child.

gonefishin, then both you and woodsman misunderstand the purpose of bail. The law (and constitution) requires that bail be available except where the defendant may flee or may pose a threat to the community. It is unconstitutional to punish someone prior to conviction by keeping them in jail just because they commit an unpopular crime. But essentially that's what people want to happen -- for the punishment to begin immediately.

This is absolutely sickening. This baby was 3 WEEKS OLD. Did this "father" have post partum depression?! I think not. I hope for a full recovery for the infant and a life of misery for the "father." And maybe a few cracked ribs and a fractured skull for good 'ol dad too!

I wasn't saying there is any excuse, nor am I defending him in anyway.... my belief is that you hurt a child, you deserve the book thrown at you! What I am saying is that I give him credit for admitting he did wrong by the child and knows he must do the time as he did the crime.

prevention- There is no excuse and I give no credit. He had the option to walk away if he got mad and he didnt. who cares if he didnt want the child, he has one and he needs to grow up and be a good father or just completely leave.

gabby, they probably grew up in an environment where violence and abuse were 'okay' (I can't figure out when it's okay, but that's me). Some people don't know how to control their emotions, anger towards a child. Also, did he really 'want' the child? More people are apt to harm a child if it lives with them and they didn't really 'want' it. Any case, it's sad. I do not agree with what he did by any means. I do give him credit for owning up to having done it. That's a better start than 99.9% of any case I've ever come across.

It's so hard to break there bones at that age. He must have really squeezed, hit, bashed, whatever he did pretty hard. I will never understand how someone can hurt an innocent child.
