No doubt. I have farmed myself...800 acres, in fact. Sorry, but clumps of dirt DO end up in the roadway, waiting, yes, for the rain to wash it away.
Hopefully no motorist or motorcyclists are harmed by this byproduct.
I don't think anyone said farmers didn't pay taxes...did they???

No one said this accident was caused by farm equipment, did you even read the comments? People were just commenting how farm equipment is driven down the center of the road.

I hope all that all that were involved in the accident are ok, as for pointing blame at the farmers i do farm for a living it can be very dangerous at times to drive equipment on the sides of the road it can lead to equipment rollovers, which can permanently injure or kill the equipment operator, and also damage the equipment depending on what the equipment is and also damage the road shoulders and crack the edge of the blacktop where it meets the shoulder. I do my best to be courteous to other drivers I encounter and give them plenty of room with safety in mind. Im tired of us farmers getting a bad rep just because of a few other careless farmers, it is like we are all stereotyped, we pay taxes for the roads just like everyone else and have just as much right to use those roads as anyone else, and a little dirt left on the roads wont hurt anything thats what rain is for to wash it off. I have also ran across many people with no common sense or sense of being safe on the roads when passing me on my equipment, talk about IDIOTS, besides if it wasnt for us farmers where would all you people that complain about us get your food and clothing?

I clicked on this story, then while reading it, realized how pitiful the general reader of news has allowed the media to become. Baby hurt in crash, click here. The story basically says this: Baby hurt in crash. That's how awesome we are nowadays. People are so interested in reading about other people's deaths, injuries, misfortunes, etc. that we have allowed the media to be able to write a two-sentence article about how a child was injured somewhere and a million people will click on it. Me included, not saying I'm any different. Just makes me feel sick a little bit.

LOOKS LIKE THE GAZETTE IS SLACKING...HERE IS MORE INFO I FOUND ON BDN
Town of Beloit police responded this morning to a traffic accident involving a car and a sewage truck in the 6200 block of W. Liberty Road.

The accident happened about 8:30 a.m. near the intersection of Paddock and Mill Pond roads. A helicopter airlifted a 2-year-old boy to Rockford as a precautionary measure, said Town of Beloit Police Officer Barb Walbinger. The car’s driver, 28-year-old Alvin W. Walters of Monroe, was taken to Beloit Memorial Hospital. The driver of the sewage truck was not injured.

Walbinger said it appears the car drove into the lane of the sewage truck.

Love how from the information giving by the gazette we can conclude that it must be a farmers fault. If you like the city driving habits, stay in the city.

Lets not forget how heavy some farm machinery can be. Most gravel shoulders are not load bearing.

There's no indication of farm machinery involvement in this accident.
.
By law, Wisconsin motorists are required to give way to vehicles displaying an orange "slow" placard. Tractors cannot always ride on the side due to the risk of rollover or equipment entanglement. Safety first!

Not to mention all the big clumps of dirt that end up on the roadway during planting.

i will agree with the farmer thing. they think they own those roads, an should be more courteus,i like the ones who turn onto the road when they see coming an you have to slam on your brakes'

I heard the helicopter and wondered what happened. Liberty can be dangerous out there in the country. Lots of accidents in that area in the past. I hope the passengers will be alright. TBFD has great paramedics...hopefully they were able to help. Prayers to all involved.
