The winners of three local races kept their seats after Saturday recounts.

In Edgerton, third district Alderman Ken Westby, the incumbent, asked for a recount after he lost to Mark Wellnitz, 79 to 78.

Saturday’s recount confirmed Wellnitz’s win, according to Edgerton City Clerk Cindy Hegglund.

In the Town of Rock, board member Bryce O’Leary was running for both the town board seat and for town chairman.

O’Leary kept his seat on the board, but lost the chairmanship to incumbent Mark Gunn by two votes, 274-272.

After recount, Gunn was still the winner, but O’Leary lost a vote, with the final total, 274-271, according to Town of Rock Clerk Deb Bennett.
