Governor's race starts early
MADISON — The simmering 2010 governor’s race is moving quickly to a boil with a new television ad attacking presumptive Republican candidate Scott Walker.
The ad, slated to run Sunday on one Milwaukee station, comes a full 19 months before the election. Paid for by the state Democratic Party, the ad accuses Walker of "flip flopping" on accepting federal stimulus money.
Walker is Milwaukee County executive.

Crafty, that's what I thought about the last Governor's election, however, the Republicans DID run Mickey Mouse (Mark Green), and he lost.
.
If Walker is going to run for Governor, he should make the ads all about himself. "This is what I did/proposed in the past, and why I thought it was the right thing to do/try. This is what I did/proposed in the past which didn't work, why it didn't work, and how I've learned from it and won't try it again."
.
People are sick of the petty, childish, immature and stupid partisan fighting and game-playing that's been going on in Madison for years on BOTH sides of the aisle. Walker (or whomever runs against Doyle) should completely refrain from discussing or even mentioning the Democratic party. If questions come up about partisan votes or arguments, the candidate should refer to specific individuals and their votes or quotes, and not the party.

If I'm Walker I run one ad only for the next year and a half...and it would be the clip of Doyle saying "we cannot, we must not, and I will not raise taxes", enough said.

Exactly. At this point I think Mickey Mouse would win in an election against Doyle.

If that bald-headed fool Doyle is voted back into office AGAIN. There will be absoultuley no doubt left that the good people of Wisconsin are, in fact, certifiable.

There is no way this clown should be voted back in. It just shows you how blind the people that vote for him are. He's done nothing for the people other than rob more money out of our wallets. WAKE UP WISCONSIN!

Walker has the Dem party worried. The party will use the Milwaukee county board in clever ways over the next year to do it's best to knock Walker down. http://www.onmilwaukee.com/politics/arti...

Any ad that the republicans run will be considered an "Attack Ad" no matter what it says. One cannot criticze their ad's tho. That way the can play up the victimization act they have become so accomplished at. Egad's 19 months to election--can't they wait at least 12 months to start the stupidity?

It would be amusing if the Democrats wasted several months of attack ad money and then someone instead of Walker ran for Governor on the Republican ticket.
.
The Republicans would be wise to not run ANY attack ads against Doyle - most Wisconsin voters knows how slimy he is and save their money for positive ads about campaign issues.
.
I don't expect anything different than the 2-party mudslinging negative ads of 2 poor choices for Governor that we had last time.

The Dems are on their way out in Wisconsin. Why? Because we are one of 10 states that are RAISING TAXES in a time of recession. Not to mention all of the freakin' fee increases the slimy twit has slapped us with.

Most of Doyles dependents are in Milw. Promises promises. Pay them off to get the vote. And raise our taxes to do it.

It just shows how preoccupied the democratic party is with obtaining and holding political power in Wisconsin. Rather odd the story doesn't mention that it was the democrats who came up with the idea of "stimulus" or "bail-outs". Couldn't the democrats spend their time more productively than thrown stones at republicans in this time of recession and economic hardship?
