Teamsters end strike against Waste Management
MILWAUKEE (AP) Striking Teamsters voted to accept Waste Management's "best and final offer," ending a month-long walkout by garbage truck drivers, equipment operators and maintenance workers.
The union approved the company's latest offer Sunday after twice voting to reject its offer. Waste Management officials say the 5-year contract includes scaled-back wages and health care benefits.
Waste Management handles garbage pickup and recycling for thousands of residential and commercial customers in a six-county area. Replacement workers were hired by the company after the union began a strike Aug. 26.
About 240 members of Local 200 could return to work as soon as Wednesday.

janesvillean - you are right, um 50-60 years ago. Most employers see the value in their employees. Unions are no longer needed. The only thing unions do, is raise the price of the product or service. It does NOT guarantee a better service, or product. Is something done by a union worker and better than a non-union worker? NO!!!
.
I am happy that the workers got what they wanted. But who really won??

Uh, before unions, you found out about wage concessions when the boss told you to accept one or walk.
