Kenosha man recalls loud bang before copter crash
KENOSHA, Wis. (AP) A Kenosha man whose house was hit by a helicopter last month tells investigators there was a "loud bang like thunder" just before a cloud of debris blew into his bedroom.
A preliminary report from the National Transportation Safety Board says neighbors helped the man and his family escape the house uninjured.
The report doesn't give his name but Noel and Carla Wilson lived there with their children, ages 9, 6 and 2.
NTSB air safety investigator Ed Malinowski says it could take up to a year to complete the investigation.
Fog may have been a factor in the predawn crash, which killed the pilot and passenger.
Malinowski says it doesn't appear the helicopter had instrumentation to let a pilot fly under poor visibility conditions.
