TOWNSHIP OF AZTALAN, Wis. (AP) A 14-year-old boy is killed in Jefferson County when the tractor and trailer he was operating overturned on a rural road.

Sheriff's authorities say Jacob Kruwell of Lake Mills was driving the tractor and pulling a load of silage on a road in the Township of Aztalan Saturday afternoon.

The wheels of the trailer apparently slipped off the pavement and the load shifted, rolling both tractor and trailer and pinning Kruwell underneath the tractor.

He was pronounced dead at the scene by the Jefferson County coroner.

I feel bad for the boy. No more birthdays, no high school prom, and all he was doing was working, not like a drunk teen who dies in a car accident at all. My prayers are with him and his family. RIP

God gave us shoulders for one reason. Lean on friends and family to help you with your pain.
I'm a dairy farm wife and mom and sympathize with this family. If our children our going to run equipment and run it on the roads they are to take a course through our extension offices and pass the tests. Not only are they taught how to drive and many other things they are taught respect for the equipment.Farm children learn something new everyday about life and living on a farm. Sometimes accidents happen and all we can do is support the loved ones that are grieving.

gabby: well said!
wwr: Not having grown up on a farm, thank you for that insight. My niece is engaged to a dairy farmer, and "they" (farmers) seem to be very proud of what they do (rightfully so) and a close knit group.

Kruwall family: Stay strong!!

My thoughts are with his parents and family and friends. It's so tragic when you lose someone this young. Please Janesville be respectful in this blog. Let his parents be able to look here and see all the warming comments from complete strangers. Don't get these disabled too.
