JANESVILLE--The Rock County Board is not happy with Mercy Hospital’s decision to discontinue its Mercy in Motion, adult day care and inpatient hospice care programs.

The board on Thursday night voted unanimously to send a resolution saying as such to Mercy and the county’s state legislators.

Mercy Health System said earlier this summer that it will discontinue Mercy in Motion, which provides Mercy patients with transportation to medical appointments.

Mercy plans eventually to eliminate its hospice residence program and its adult day care program.

All Mercy cares about is money, no matter who they step on in order to get that money. I say we chase them out of town, they are just a HUGE waste of space....

Why don't they send a letter to Dean requesting that they start the service?

It's a rotten shame that Mercy has cut the programs to help the elderly and the dying. That seems to contradict the good business "values" Mercy is so willing to advertise. Perhaps if they cut down the funding they use internally with their silly patient surveys, hiring people to monitor and calculate receptionist percentage rates of accuracy, applying for awards that have expensive application fees they could afford to help such important and overlooked members of our community!

Isn't it a little bit late for that!! The Mercy in Motion program is shut down and they say they aren't going to start it back up! So what good is the letter going to do!!

Yeah, send a letter to Mercy telling them you don't like how you run their business. That is a silly waste of a stamp. Why don't they just improve their transportation program.. Wouldn't that make more sense?

This is coming from the same Rock County Board of Supervisors that slammed the door shut on its own detox unit? Give me a break!
