Plane crash victims identified
MILWAUKEE — Two passengers who died in a Vilas County plane crash have been identified as a prominent Milwaukee area interior designer and his partner.
Friend Mark Hackbarth says 50-year-old Jon Schlagenhaft and his 40-year-old partner, Curt Stern, were not only partners at Jon Schlagenhaft Design in Mequon, but also life partners.
The couple from Milwaukee and 61-year-old Kenton Morris, who was piloting the plane, were killed when the single-engine Cirrus SR21 aircraft crashed about 7 p.m. Thursday at Lakeland Airport in Arbor Vitae.
Hackbarth says they had many friends and were on their way to see some at their property in the area.
Morris is from Batavia, Ill. The county sheriff’s department released the identities Saturday afternoon.
