Musket blast kills Illinois man
HAYWARD — Authorities in northwestern Wisconsin say a 40-year-man has died after a musket he was loading exploded.
Sawyer County deputies say the Geneva, Ill., man died Friday about 7:15 p.m., less than an hour after the explosion.
Authorities say three men at a cabin near Hayward were attempting to load and fire the musket. Deputies say the victim tried to fire the gun, and it exploded, sending shrapnel into his thigh. His friends drove him to a hospital where he died.
Authorities believe the shrapnel may have sliced through the femoral artery, one of the body’s main blood vessels.
The man’s name hasn’t been released pending notification of family.

Gwendt..."language police" has nothing to do with it...Gabby said something about the incident that was not in the article, namely that it was a hunting related accident, rep_of_1 pointed out that there was nothing in the article to support what Gabby said, Gabby then said that she was misunderstood. There was no mixed meaning, no inuendo to be mis-read, no twist of language, other than Gabby saying one thing then saying that she should have rephrased it for "people who intreprut things the wrong way." What that feels like to me is that she's blaming rep_of_1 for not reading her mind and knowing that she said the wrong thing.
.
Oh...and if Gabby isn't a her, I'm sorry...never heard of a guy calling himself Gabby, tho...I think it'd be an honest mistake.

instead of commenting on the articles, seems like the "language police" should be called out LOL

Gabby...you said...
.
"The first of many hunting accidents that will happen..."
.
If that isn't saying that you thought it was a hunting accident, I don't know what is. I don't believe that we misunderstood what you said...you just didn't say what you wanted to say.

I was not saying this one itself was a hunting accident. I was trying to say we are going to be hearing more about these kinds of accidents now that hunting season is approaching. Sorry I should have made myself a little more clear for the people who intreprut things the wrong way.

No where in the article did it say any thing about hunting. I feel sorrow for the man's family, but let's not label this a hunting accident until the facts are presented.

I wonder if they mistakenly used modern gunpowder, instead of old-fashioned black powder (which does not ignite with the same force), or whether they used a true antique musket. Most reenactors use reproductions.
