Relative of beating victim banned from court
VIROQUA, Wis. (AP) _ The sister-in-law of a man who died after he was beaten outside a Vernon County bar has been banned from attending sentencing for the man convicted in the assault.
Vernon County Circuit Judge Michael Rosborough says it's the first time he can remember ever barring someone from the courtroom for a sentencing.
Marcy Kuykendall sent an e-mail to the district attorney that included profanity and strong negative opinions about the judicial system in Vernon County. Rosborough says she also expressed a wish that the defendant, David Heisz, be murdered in the courtroom during sentencing on Oct. 20.
Heisz pleaded no contest to second-degree reckless homicide in the February death of Kelly Kuykendall outside Pat's Corner Bar in Readstown. Prosecutors say Heisz pushed the Beloit man off a landing and punched him.

mgmgrand - she did threaten someone. She said in her letter that the guy should be murdered. Regardless if she said she would do it herself or not, it's still a threat.
I don't think anyone would disagree that she has every reason to be upset. I would be livid if it were my friend or family that was killed. At least the guy pleaded no contest so her family doesn't have to be subjected to a trial.

Lets see, her brother-in-law was dragged outside and beaten to death by some drunken bully, who is charged with second-degree reckless homicide, and she's upset, go figure.
I used to work with Kelly, 120# maybe, not what you would call a real brawler. From what I understand he didn't even fight back. Senseless...

rlms - she did not threaten anyone. She just sent in an angry email. She sort of did the right thing. But did it in the wrong way. She should have sent a letter asking the DA to try and get the maximum sentence allowed by law. Telling him what kind of a man her brother-in-law was and how much the family will miss him.
.
Sending an angry email to the DA does not help anything. I know that during this time your emotions can takeover, and you cannot hold your own composure. Your emotions spill out.

Wow sounds like maybe she has a few anger issues her self. To send a threatening letter to a d.a. is pretty stupid. But it gave them a heads up that she is not the most stable person.
