16-year-old charged with starting fatal fire
MONROE, Wis. (AP) -- A 16 year old is charged in a juvenile petition with setting a fire that killed a Monroe man last March.
The Green County district attorney says state and local investigators determined the fire that killed Jeffrey Sullivan March 23 was not accidental. A delinquency petition charges the 16 year old with arson and felony murder.
The 37-year-old Sullivan was found in the basement of the house and died from smoke inhalation. He was able to remove his daughter from her basement bedroom. Sullivan's wife and three children were outside when first responders arrived.
An initial court appearance is scheduled Sept. 29.

Does anyone know if it was the step-daughter for sure and how she started the fire. It just sound odd because she was the one stuck in the basement, if she started it wouldn't she make sure she was safe? And has anyone heard anything on a motive? Just wondering, theres not much info here!

I am afraid its the step daughter of the man who died. Actually I guess legally it would be his daughter as I believe that he adopted her. Very sad.

I wonder if this is about more of the MYSpace feud, between two kids? The one that happened in Boscobel awhile back between two cousins, the one shot the other, now faces charges for first degree attempted murder.

It never says anywhere in this article that a male or female was charged. Just that a juvenile was charged.

Excuse me but channel 3000 ran the story earlier in the week stating it was a female not male that was being charged.
