Flood video sells out; 2,500 more DVDs ordered
JANESVILLE—The first shipment of 1,000 DVD’s of “The Flood of 2008,’’ produced by the late John Gage of Videogenics, has sold out.
So a second shipment of 2,500 more DVD’s of the video flood documentary have been ordered and will be distributed to about 50 sales outlets in Rock and Jefferson counties by Sept. 15.
A list of sales outlets can be found at www.uwnrc.org. Sale proceeds will benefit special flood relief funds established by United Ways in both counties.
Donations are still being sought to help pay for the cost of the duplication of the DVDs. For information, call United Way of North Rock County at (608) 757-3040.

kittykat - i have worked for various united way organizations to help raise money for their campaigns and a small percentage of what is raised goes towards overhead (i.e. salaries of the executives). the majority of the money is donated to organizations in need and the organizations are closely scrutinized. the people that head up orgs like this don't do it for the money - they could work for commerce and make much more. i urge you to fully understand the process before you critcize it. united way helps thousands of people in our community every year - people that do not have the resources to raise funds and obtain support on their own. be careful - you may need to use one of their services someday.

We bought the dvd, it was a great piece of work. John Gage's family should be proud.
