Flood assistance adding up.
MADISON—More than $90.3 million in state and federal disaster assistance has been approved for Wisconsin residents affected by June and July severe storms and flooding, emergency managers said Friday.
Wisconsin Emergency Management (WEM) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) said the disaster aid total represents assistance to public entities as well as grants and low-interest loans to individuals and business owners.
In Rock County, 491 individuals or households have been declared eligible and $1.39 million has been approved. In Jefferson County, 685 individuals or households have been declared eligible and $3.2 million has been approved.
Other totals include: Dane County, 950 eligible, $1.59 million approved. Green County, 113 eligible, $215,778 approved. Walworth County, 152 eligible, $320,594 approved.
“We continue to see new applications for assistance every day,” said FEMA Federal Coordinating Officer Dolph Diemont. “The deadline to apply is Sept. 15, which leaves little more than a week to have requests considered for a wide range of federal and state aid.”
Residents can register or update their information with FEMA by calling (800) 621-3362 or (TTY) (800) 462-7585 for those with speech or hearing impairment. The toll-free lines are open daily from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. CDT until further notice. Residents also can register online 24 hours a day at www.fema.gov until the 11 p.m. deadline on Sept. 15.

It should add up, as it was a record flood year. By that a mean 100 years worth of records. Give the poor people their money. And do not move back there..jmo
