McCain, Palin campaign in Cedarburg
CEDARBURG, Wis. (AP) — Fresh from accepting the Republican nomination for president, John McCain takes his campaign to a suburb north of Milwaukee Friday.
The rally in the historic suburb of Cedarburg is the first for McCain and running mate Sarah Palin since the Republican National Convention closed in St. Paul, Minn. Thursday night.
Work crews removed street lights, built an outdoor stage and readied the downtown area in the rain Thursday.
People began congregating in Cedarburg early Friday morning. Police said 5,000 to 8,000 people were expected for the rally.
McCain has made four previous stops in Wisconsin since the state’s presidential primary in February, but none since the end of July. His opponent, Democrat Barack Obama, has been here three times since the primary. His last visit was Monday in Milwaukee.

I know OBAMA voted for and with BUSH when the senate voted for the education bill Ted Kennedy authored. I will also hazard a guess OBAMA voted for the jobs bill which extended unemployment benefits that BUSH sent to congress....after all that and OBAMA and them DEMS still hate anything BUSH does or says.....hmmm...

It's called a party-line vote, and both sides do it.

Sorry NVgrf, voting records mean little to me. Most votes on the senate floor are small bills most of us don't hear about. I bet 90+% of republicans voted with Bush more than 90% of the time. I don't view that as a sign he's going to be another Bush, because McCain falls much more toward the center on issues and Bush much more toward the right. I'm sure there were many things McCain voted for in the senate which he wouldn't necessarily push forward if he were president.

Watching McSame's speech was not a total waste of time, however. I don't think I have laughed harder since the blackjack dealer in "Las Vegas Vacation" yelled, "I'm on fire" when he portrayed himself as the candidate of CHANGE. Bad strategy to stress your desire to change from 8 years of voting 90% of the time with a President you were devoted to. Me thinks John McCain will be Johnny McGone in November.

I certainly hope McSame's speech is an improvement over his nothingofsubstance oration at the RNC. The only thing that this man offers is his impressive stint as a war hero, and we should all honor that. But I've got that story memorized by now. But the upper crust citizens of Cedarburg should eat up his sameness.

Angry angry comments. Just curious: When did it become necessary to insult the people you aren't voting for? I think the end result and ultimate show of disapproval is by not voting for them. Is it really necessary to insult these candidates with half truths?

Just say "KNOW"! Remember democracy is more than voting. It's also participation and action not limited to swooning over self-proclaimed "Maverick"s and "Hockey Mom's"! Before you vote, read (study!) the Constitution and the Bill of Rights asking yourself which candidate would most likely uphold these principles.

Welcome to Wisconsin McCain-Palin. I hope that we all appreciate the Maverick and the Hockey Mom for their outstanding qualities and what they can do for our country. We don't need the messianic figure of liquid leftist oration; we need two real people and two real leaders to win this election. McCain-Palin 2008 NoBama2008!!!
