Foreclosure filings level off in Wis.
MADISON, Wis. (AP) — New figures show foreclosure filings are leveling off in Wisconsin, but are still at record levels.
The latest report from ForeclosuresWI.com shows 1,848 foreclosures were filed in August in the Badger State, up 5 percent over July’s filings.
A total of 16,139 foreclosures were filed during the first eight months of the year, nearly 25 percent higher than the same period in 2007.
The average monthly foreclosure filings in Wisconsin is 2,017 in 2008, compared to an average of 965 in 2003.

what their not saying is that there are more people that banks are foreclosing on that haven't hit the records yet... that's not counting properties seized out of bankruptcy...
