Obama leads by 11 in latest Wisconsin poll
MADISON, Wis. (AP) Barack Obama leads John McCain by 11 points in Wisconsin, according to a new poll released just six days before the election.
The results of the WISC-TV poll done by Research 2000 and released Wednesday are in line with seven previous polls this month that also showed Obama with a double-digit lead.
Neither candidate has visited Wisconsin since Oct. 10.
The new poll shows Obama with 53 percent compared with 42 percent for McCain. The margin of error was plus or minus 4 percentage points.
The economic woes continue to favor Obama. Of those polled, 59 percent say they trust Obama more to handle the economy compared with just 30 percent for McCain.

Oh geez, not another reference to large oil company profits. If you do the math, those "record profits" barely make a difference in the per-gallon price you pay. The last I checked it was on the order of $0.10 per gallon, which is nowhere near the $0.20 per gallon of federal tax (and the WI state tax is considerably higher than that). Just to put that into perspective.
Getting on topic, as for polls, if you put any faith in them (I personally take them with a rock of salt), then they COULD be helpful for some undecided voters. Not undecided between Obama and McCain, but undecided between a 3rd party and either dem/rep. For example, if you know the election is going to be a land-slide then you can feel free to vote 3rd party on principle, but if it's a tight race then some independent voters might second-guess that move.

I don't think that even the dirty trick Republicans can steal THIS election. Although they sure did Willie Sutton proud when they stole it from Gore.

Latest national polls are showing polls tightening. Obama people are requesting party workers from all over U.S. to come help in Florida to force out the vote. Sorry, Get out the vote. Showing that they are very aware there is a real chance that these polls did not show what is really going on.

I agree. What is the purpose of reporting these 'polls'? Are they to sway the undecided in going with who the early 'winner' is? I hope American voters are deeper than making a voting decision based on a poll.

Who cares about a poll? What a waste of time and money!
