Madison man gets 10 years in torture case
MADISON, Wis. (AP) A second Madison man has been sentenced for his role in a seven-hour torture session against a man he believed had stolen money or drugs from him.
Twenty-year-old Emmanuel Usher was sentenced Thursday to 10 years in prison. A day earlier, another 20-year-old Madison man was sentenced to 18 years for his role in the case.
Prosecutors say Usher and two other men tortured the 21-year-old victim by beating him, repeatedly shooting him with BBs at close range, stabbing him in the leg and splashing cleaning chemicals on him.
At the sentencing Usher apologized to the victim and his family. He said he was young and very stupid, and at the time wasn't thinking for himself and others.
The third man allegedly involved is scheduled for trial in December.

lynda~My thoughts exactly. I don't think he is sorry for what he did, he is sorry he got caught! You don't tortue someone for seven hours and never once feel sorry and start to think about what you are doing unless there is a peice missing in your brain. I'm surprised someone didn't plead temporarily insane! Because I would have to be in order to do this to someone.
~
My thoughts are with him and his family. I hope you all the best.

It's hard to imagine how someone could do those things to another, then say he was sorry. It's something missing inside them and I don't think they ever are truly remorseful. Just trying to get out of trouble.
