MADISON, Wis. (AP) State Democrats are objecting to ads accusing their candidates of supporting free health care for illegal immigrants.

The Wisconsin Institute for Leadership and the Coalition for America's Families have been running television ads in Eau Claire, La Crosse and Green Bay targeting state Rep. Jim Soletski, D-Green Bay, Rep. Jeff Smith, D-Eau Claire, and Assembly candidate Kristen Dexter, D-Eau Claire. The ads imply they supported state Senate Democrats' universal health care plan.

Mike Maistelman is the state Democratic Party's attorney. He has sent letters to a number of TV stations in western and northeastern Wisconsin asking them to pull the ads because they're false and broadcasting them is illegal.

The two groups didn't immediately return messages.

This is some of the crap that the Republicans are pulling .

A McCain campaign volunteer made up a story of being robbed, pinned to the ground and having the letter "B" scratched on her face in what she had said was a politically inspired attack, police said Friday.

Ashley Todd, 20-year-old college student from College Station, Texas, admitted Friday that the story was false, said Maurita Bryant, the assistant chief of the police department's investigations division. Todd was charged with making a false report to police, and Bryant said police doubted her story from the start

ski1357, while Obama is not rich, he does make enough money as a Senator and author to afford a plane ticket.

NVgrf-your link didn't work (for me) but, as a public service ;-) I had no trouble finding another one. Apparently this doesn't cover everything.

Although I agree with Mr. Obamas' trip to Hawaii to visit his ailing grandmother in a few days, but who thinks the money to get there will come from his pocket instead of his treasure chest of $600 million in private campaign funds? Even though I don't support Obama, I wish his grandmother good health.

WGAS.......Where is the Gazette article on Palin's billing of her state for her kid's outrageous travel and room expenses. The Gazette seems to solicit only comments on Obama/Democratic articles.

You have got to be kidding me?????

The Republicans in this state are the Kings and Queens of stretching their stories. They continually lie with more ease than George Bush ever did.
Oh, and by the way, those ads, they're aren't lies!!!!

Where's Whitewater's Kim Hixson on this topic? He too is fond of saying he supports health care for all....but just not $15 billion Healthy Wisconsin that his own Senator, Beloit's Judy Robson pushed for. Yet Hixson whines that Republicans didn't bring up the Healthy Wisconsin package as a bill. He also blames the budget delay on the GOP. Seems the budget process could have been over in minutes if the GOP had just agreed to Healthy Wisconsin and the largest tax increase in the nation. Well which is it Professor Hixson?? Would you have voted for Healthy Wisconsin or not? Seems you can't have it both ways.

Just to clarify, Badger Care is a form of medical assistance in Wisconsin only. All of the other states have their own medical assistance programs & federal funds go to all of the states to assist with these programs. So it is just not Wisconsin that lets illegal immigrants have children here & pays for them, it is all across the country

Actually, the federal government is already providing free health care to illegal immigrants (under a Republican president I might add). All they have to do is have a child here & even though the moms are illegal they can get Badger Care. That's yours & my tax dollars at work to the tune of billions of dollars.

Democrats object to everything... BTW they are planning on offering free health care to anyone right! On the lighter side, this will be a great boost to the economy of beloit and janesville as we get an influx of people seeking free health care....
