Milwaukee may remove voters with suspect addresses
MADISON, Wis. (AP) Nearly 2,700 registered voters in Milwaukee could be removed from the rolls because they have addresses that do not exist.
The Milwaukee Elections Commission sent letters last week warning the voters to resolve the discrepancy or they’ll be required to re-register on Election Day.
Assistant Director Neil Albrecht says many of the letters will be returned but they needed to be sent to confirm the addresses are undeliverable.
Albrecht says the commission hired a consulting firm to check the addresses of registered voters against U.S. Postal Service records of deliverable addresses.
He says that resulted in about 3,000 voters using suspect addresses. A few hundred of them were either data entry errors or street name changes that could be cleared up. The others were sent a letter.

janesvillean...In Wisconsin you must have "proof" of residence. If the application listed the address as "proof" it must be valid. http://elections.state.wi.us/faq_que_lis...

I think the Gazette should rethink it's editorial posititon against Wisconsin's Attorney General trying to stop election fraud. Voter fraud should not be ignored or slighted,

I did the whole article. To rephrase my question: How do you vote if you're homeless?

Pretty simple, "Assistant Director Neil Albrecht says many of the letters will be returned but they needed to be sent to confirm the addresses are undeliverable." Read the whole article.

There's over 2700 homeless people in Milwaukee. Could some of the people with bad addresses be homeless? I didn't understand the part about letters being sent to people with suspect addresses. It reminds me of the time I caught myself writing an email to my Internet provider saying my connection was down.
