Abductions are far from rare and attempted abductions are even less rare. It seems it doesnt hit the papers until it actually happens which is sad as the public has a right to know as to protecting and warning their children. IMO reports are made and lay on desks while they investigate as more reports are made the stack gets higher and some misplaced..............

Maybe the girl thought no one would believe her, and someone finally convinced her to speak with the proper authorities. Pretty amazing, though, that THREE guys would agree to pull something like that. I thought abductors were a pretty rare breed. Was she one of those 11 year olds who looked older from a distance? Maybe once he realized she was a lot younger, he gave up on trying to get her to "come party" or something like that.

janesvillean, this happened to my 11 year-old daughter just last year. It did not make the news.
She ran away from the truck. She ran straight to a friend's house and right to school. The school did NOT even leave a message for me at the three numbers they had (I was in a meeting). They left a message for her father, the non-custodial parent.
I only found out AFTER school.
My husband and I, the next morning went on a hunting trip for the perverts, but they were never found.

You need to realize also, criminals are not always as smart and rational as you or I would be. The girl probably made noises, or fought more than these guys were expecting. Maybe it was impulsive behavior, and he originally wasn't going to try any force. Whatever, don't second guess this story just yet, even if it does change later. I hope everyone is combing the area for these creeps!

I don't want to be unkind, but this smells a little bit to me. That is not the usual MO of a snatch-and-grab molester. In fact such abductions are extremely rare.

Sounds kind of strange that she just got away. The guy must have been kind of weak to not be able to take on a 12 year old girl.

I was thinking the same thing! If there is someone trying to abduct a child I think that the public deserves to know. Not two weeks after the fact. I hope they find these people. I hope this girl is okay. My thoughts are with her and her family.
