From the WCLO newsroom:

Beloit police are investigating a weekend shooting that involved two 17-year-olds.

Captain Bill Tyler says the shooting occurred in the 700 block of West Grand just before three o'clock Sunday afternoon. One teen was treated at a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries and the other was arrested on multiple counts of recklessly endangering safety.

Tyler says police are investigating the circumstances of the shooting, but have some indications it was gang-related.

CHEMICAL.....I want some of what your smoking.....seems it makes the world look a little bit rosey. Kids are all born innocent, it is the environment they are raised in that corrupts them....i.e. parents.

I love how people immediately blame it on the parents… Parents are just people, they are not superheros… Especially all of those single working parents that are not home because they are working all the time trying to provide for their family. What can they REALLY do when one starts hanging around with the wrong crowd, joins a gang and gets into trouble…. It’s not always the parents fault… And yeah, I am sure there are gangs in our communities, and it’s hard to accept because you want your city to be safe and happy and not worry about rape, murder, burglary and crime in general but that is what the times have brought us. There are more people NOT in gangs than there are IN them, so to me I do not see any reason why we as law-abiding citizens will let them over-run our cities…

I do however think that the people that call these gangs “wanna-be’s” are the kids that are 10-14 years old, not the ones that are for example, 16-25 years old. A lot more damage seems to be done from the older ones than the younger ones.

Firstly, MOB stands for Money OVER *******.
Gangs are definitely a real problem in Janesville, and people who ignore the problem and claim they are just "wannabes" are not helping anything at all.

Gangster diciples (GD) Vice lorde (VL) MONEY Or Bitches (MOB) latin kings this is just a few in the closed eyes in the community of Janesville. When we accept there is a problem then we CAN find solutions! And I can say as 4 sons in this community that I raised (Now adults and hopefully wiser) associated with some of them members and I suspected were part of at one time But I confronted the issue and was hard on them to be their own person that they didnt need anyone to cover their back IF they were doing the RIGHT things in life. The one that chose to be involved is in prison as to rival attack and doing what I tried to teach him not to. When you close your eyes to this issue it may be your child locked up or dead think about it! Or an innocent bystander that the bullets hit or the pipe or bat they are swinging. check some areas of this city anytime afternoon or night you will see it really happens if you are willing to accept it exists!!!!!!!!

Trust me, they ARE gangs and I'll be politically correct and not say what kind of gang they are because I'm sure I'll be slammed for saying it. There is also another gang from Rockford coming across the border to cause all kinds of problems. Beloit had a crazy weekend and all residents need to be on the lookout for groups of kids loitering. Don't be afraid to call the cops 'cause most of these large groups are up to no good.

"They are just shooting each other. All is well."

Right you are. Hey, mister, how about relocating your expanding company to Rock County? Oh, that shooting stuff? Gang problems? Don't worry, they are only shooting each other. Whats that? where do they go to school? Would your kids end up going to the same places? Well, uh, they are only shooting each other so whats the problem. Hey, wait, come back, don't you get it, these kids aren't a problem. Wait mister, we really need the jobs...............

We have gangs because some of you low life parents sould have been banned from having kids years ago!!!!!!Get rid of social services, and these people that cry child abuse, and give these kids a good old fashion smack on the ass. What they needed from day ONE!!

I think they're either at school or they're shooting someone. I forget which.

Perhaps you should reread the story, it was three in the afternoon.

Both cities do have gangs and hiding our heads in the sand by calling armed groups of youth with affiliations that lead to shootings "wannabe's" won't make the problem go away.
