Report: Obama outspends McCain on TV ads
MADISON, Wis. (AP) A new report shows Barack Obama outspent John McCain on television advertising last week.
Obama spent more than $17 million compared to just under $11 million by McCain and the Republican National Committee.
The Wisconsin Advertising Project report shows nearly $4 million was spent on TV ads in Ohio, more than any other state.
The report shows Obama is outspending McCain and Republicans in nearly all of the competitive states. The only ones where McCain was spending more were Iowa and Minnesota.
Three Wisconsin cities were in the top 20 for number of ads being run by both sides. Milwaukee is third, Green Bay is fourth and La Crosse is 13th. McCain plans to campaign in the Milwaukee area Thursday and La Crosse on Friday.

It's really pretty sad what McCain's campaign has become. Now they think the only way to win is to pump up their audiences into calling Obama a "terrorist" and yelling out "kill him!" McCain speaks of honor and dignity but cannot even name his opponent or look him in the eye when they are on the same stage, saying dismissively "that one". This is a new and very ugly chapter in American politics that history will not treat kindly.

at least curtaincall can tell you what she reads, palin has to have some tell her what she reads. As a woman, I would never vote for palin. She is a embarrassment. She thinks winking, and 'gosh darns' adds to her resume. She can't answer a question on her feet, without a script. I think we will see she is corrupt out of this investigation in Alaska. Her husband admitted in his statement there is something to these allegations. There is emails linking her to the mess. She was poor pick for v.p. My vote will be for Obama

You've got to love the rantings of the p***ed off Republicans who write in here. The end is near, they know it, and they are more than a bit angry. But they continue to babble on, attacking anyone who expresses opinions contrary to their own. Bush and his cronies, including John McCain, have led us down the path of destruction for eight years. And Americans are saying, "Enough is enough!" Very soon Bush can head back to the ranch, McCain can go back to pretending he's a maverick, and the beauty queen can go back to moose hunting.

It's obvious that you do not know much about John McCain. Nor do you know much much about the Democratic party. John McCain has served in the senate with Honor. The Democratic congress has the lowest approval rating of any congress in American history. The Republicans are not without fault, noone is. Did you see the way Nancy Pelosi was smiling at the picture takers last week when she signed the bailout bill. She should have hung her head in shame that she was asking Americans to fork over the money. Instead she looked as if she was getting the best news she had ever gotten.

The last eight years he has had his lips on G.W. xxxx, biggest reason he is not to believed..For get the fact he is nothing but a bully who has a temper tantrum when ever he does not get his way.

Oba-a-a-ma
This is what the followers of Barack Obama sound like.
Like dumb ignorant sheep they follow behind him,
not having a mind of their own. They know nothing of
his true background, but because they saw a herd of sheep
pass by following "Oba-a-a-ma", they fell in with them
because they have no real mind of their own.
They no longer care about the character of whoever leads
them. They only care that he's popular. They will follow,
even if he leads them over a cliff.

The Obama campaign has made a tremendously effective use of the internet for donations while John McCain admits he is barely computer literate. I am surprised McCain did not have a rocking chair on stage for the debate.

gabby, the story points out the importance of Wisconsin to both campaigns. It's a "barely Kerry" state that Obama is likely to win, but still a potential turnover for McCain. Obama is therefore going to significant lengths to defend it, even as he makes inroads in red Bush states like Virginia and North Carolina (as well as very likely turning Ohio and Florida blue).
.
The electoral college mathematics mean that each election, only a few states -- ten or fifteen, generally -- actually matter. The others are too committed to one candidate or the other to make it worth a significant effort.

Honestly why does it matter how much they spent campaigning? I don't get it. To me I think the 28 million could have been spent somewhere else where it actually matters. Not saying this election doesn't matter because it does, I'm saying 28 million between the two of them is a little ridiculous. That's just my opinion!

mccain thinks if he can scare people enough he win off their fear. As the polls show, the American people are smarter than mccain, and mccains tactics won't work.

whatdidyousay, why don't you actually go to his site and see the facts.. Its bush who put us in this mess, and mccain who would continue it driving this country down hill. He kept saying he is going 'fix' it but fails to say how. Because he has no clue. mccain has had 26 years to 'fix' things and has been very incompetant. No reason to think he is going to change. He is nothing but a tempermental bully.

The last Democrat created a surplus. The current Republican created a massive deficit again. You may want to re-examine your assumptions.
