More schools to join UW-Madison transfer program
STEVENS POINT, Wis. (AP) University of Wisconsin System leaders say they've expanded a program that allows students to earn UW-Madison degrees after spending their first two years at other campuses.
The Connections program creates another route to a degree from the state's flagship university. Students who are qualified for UW-Madison but turned away because of space limitations enroll at other schools before transferring as juniors.
The program has involved two-year UW Colleges and a handful of technical colleges. UW-Green Bay is the first four-year school to participate this fall and next year UW-Parkside, UW-River Falls, UW-Stevens Point and UW-Stout will follow suit.
The system estimates that 285 students will participate next year compared to 78 last year.
