Burlington man pleaded not guilty in wife's death
ELKHORN -- A Burlington man who pleaded not guilty Friday to first-degree intentional homicide in the death of his wife has become a victim of identity theft, his attorney said.
David A. Brossard, 40, of 7740 Fish Hatchery Road, Burlington, had three credit cards opened in his name and his mail stopped since his Sept. 2 incarceration in the Walworth County Jail, defense attorney Charles Blumenfield said.
The case is being investigated in Racine County, he said.
Brossard is accused of killing his wife, Dawn M. Brossard, in 1997 and disposing her body in Geneva Lake, according to the criminal complaint.
Judge James Carlson ordered David held in the Walworth County Jail on a $500,000 cash bond after hearing arguments and denying a motion to reduce bail.

gabby06 - So why do you think "he might have done it?" Have you been investigating this case with the Walworth County Sheriffs Department? Or are you going off of what you have read in the newspapers?

chemical_6~It is kinda humerous. But if he is not guilty then someone just screwed up his life. Well I guess being wrongfully accused screws up your life too. I'm not saying he didn't do it. But you are innocent until proven guilty. In my opinion I think he might have done it, but I'm waiting until this one plays itself out!

I find this kind of humerous in a way... only because bad things should happen to bad people... I hope that if he really did kill his wife that the police are not trying to hard to capture the people that stole his identity...
