Audit finds no wrongdoing in Wis. mail department
MADISON, Wis. (AP) Wisconsin auditors say they can't substantiate a complaint about workplace problems and fraudulent time sheets in the state's mailing department.
The state Legislative Audit Bureau took a complaint that the Department of Administration wasn't properly overseeing contract staff provided by Spherion Corp. in the Bureau of Publishing and Distribution, which handles print and mail services for state agencies and the Legislature. The complaint alleged the lack of oversight had resulted in workplace safety concerns, a hostile work environment and billing for hours Spherion staff didn't work.
Auditors say they interviewed contract and state staff, checked time records and interviewed Spherion managers, but couldn't substantiate any of the allegations.
The matter will now be dropped.
